Provincial Roads Projects 2018-19

Overview

In January 2017, the Provincial Government released a Five-Year Provincial Roads Plan - 2017 Edition with a list of projects to be completed each year through to 2021-22. Projects are prioritized based on safety, traffic volumes, socio-economic impacts, evidence and input from the general public and the Department of Transportation and Works' engineers.

The plan identified 75 per cent of projects to be completed in 2018-19, which allows for additional projects to be added so that new issues can be addressed in a timely manner.

Projects Planned for 2018-19

The Department of Transportation and Works is seeking public input to help identify additional sections of provincial highways and bridges to be considered for the 2018 edition of the Five-Year Provincial Roads Plan.

The department welcomes input on road maintenance issues such as infrastructure deterioration, roughness, rutting, and any other issues that affect your ability to comfortably use provincial roads and bridges.  Feedback is also being requested on the recent nighttime road construction pilot project that was completed in October 2017 on the Trans-Canada Highway from Kenmount Road to Salmonier Line.

The questionnaire is open until November 21, 2017.
