Purpose

The Health Research Ethics Authority Act (the Act) provides the Health Research Ethics Authority (HREA) with the authority to ensure that health research involving human subjects in Newfoundland and Labrador is conducted in an ethical manner. The Department of Health and Community Services is committed to finding ways to improve the Act to better support the HREA and Health Research Ethics Board (HREB) in achieving their mandates.

As a member of the research community, we welcome your perspective on how to enhance the Act.
