Community Sector Regional Engagement

Rationale for Engagement

The community sector is not recognized as the economic contributor that it is, and there are barriers to enhancing its ability to contribute further to the province’s economy.

Engagement Objectives:

Determine how the community sector and its many objectives can achieve that recognition;
Determine what those barriers are and how we can remove them to support and strengthen the community sector’s contributions to the provincial economy; and,
Consider new approaches to building and strengthening the sector and working together.

In the most concrete terms possible, what action(s) must be taken to increase the impact of the community sector on the province's economy?

Do any barriers stand in the way of implementing this (these) action(s)? If so, what are they and what must be done to remove them?
